I really love using cleansing balms. It feels like a proper cleanse, and a good one leaves your skin feeling nourished as well as super clean. So I decided to buy the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I bought mine from John Lewis here
As I’ve said before, I’m trying to concentrate more on my skin at the moment. It feels like a lovely little treat to spend a bit more on skincare and I felt really excited to start trying this one. I’ve been using for a while now and I can honestly say I love it!
As with other cleansing balms, you scoop some out, massage into your skin, working into your makeup to break it down. Then add a little water worked into your skin, which turns the product into a sort of milk cleanser. Finally, just wash away. I love using a flannel or muslin cloth to wipe it away, as this adds a gentle exfoliation to the process and helps my face feel squeaky clean.
My favourite way to use the cleanser is as my second cleanse. I remove the majority of my makeup with my micellar water from Garnier, then go in with the Clinique balm for a deep cleanse. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry at all, the opposite in fact! Even better is that it doesn’t irritate my eyes – one of my other favourite cleansing balms is the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Balm, but if I use it to remove eye makeup, it makes my vision really cloudy for a few minutes. With the Clinique balm, I don’t even notice it on my eyes!
You get plenty of product for your money and I can see this lasting me a really long time. I love the way it works with my dry skin, but I can see this working with almost all skin types. I’m really glad I picked this up!
