Review: Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Today I am sharing my thoughts on 2 of the shades from the Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick collection from Gerard Cosmetics.

I have the colour ‘Iced Mocha’ which I bought from Beauty Bay, as well as the colour ‘Immortal’ which my friend kindly bought me for my birthday a couple of months ago.

I LOVE these liquid lipsticks! They are the best formula I have tried.’Hydra Matte’ is definitely the best description for these – they are very matte to look at but simply don’t feel like, they don’t feel like they are drawing out all moisture like some of the formulas I have tried. They last so well on the lips and despite the shades I have being quite bold, dark colours, they fade off relatively evenly without going patchy. I do find it is best to remove completely before reapplying, rather than layering on top. However, I find this is the case with all liquid lipsticks!

They colours are amazing, especially ‘Iced Mocha’ as it is so unique! I think cool tones lipsticks do seem to suit me slightly better, especially with my pale natural skin tone and I find this one just looks amazing. Its like a greyish brown colour that is just so flattering – I’ve never had as many compliments on my lipstick as I did when I wore this colour! It felt a daring colour for me because it is darker but still remains neutral so really wearable.

The ‘Immortal’ shade is equally amazing. It is a really vibrant, true red shade. If I was to wear a red lip, I usually tend to go for something a bit darker so this is really different for me! I haven’t worn it out yet, but I find myself trying it on lots whenever I am playing around with new makeup looks and I love it – I think I just need to be in a daring mood to wear it out!

I know that new colours have been released in the collection now, I definitely have my eye on the pink/nude shade called ‘Mile High’. Overall a brilliant liquid lipstick and I can’t wait to add to my mini collection!
