Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette Review

I’ve had the Anastasia pallette for about 3 months now so I feel I can review it properly now! My boyfriend really kindly treated me to it on the day it came to the UK. I was so excited for it to arrive! I had seen a few YouTube tutorials and blog posts featuring it and I knew it was the perfect palette for me – lots of neutral and warm, orange and pink tones which I LOVE to wear and I feel like these tones compliment my green eyes really well.

My palette was purchased from BeautyBay and retails at £41. This is expensive – it makes it the priciest beauty product I own. However, there are 14 shadows in this palette which means you are paying less than £3 per eyeshadow pan and this is amazing value considering the quality and pigmentation of the shadows. It also comes with a dual ended brush which is so handy, it has a flat eyeshadow end and a fluffy blending brush at the other end. I love when palettes come with a good brush as its ideal for travelling.

The shades are Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter,Cyprus Umber, Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taupe and Realgar (swatched below on my arm from bottom to top)

These shadows are so blendable – they seem to melt together as you blend them on the eyelid! I’ve only had a chance to try it out on my eyes a couple of times as I only received it two days ago and I can’t wait to use it more. It is described by Anastasia Beverly Hills as all mattes apart from 2 shimmer shades. While the shades Vermeer and Primavera are clearly the main shimmer shades (which as fantastic and look almost like loose pigments on the eye!) there are a quite a few shades which have shimmer running through them. They still look pretty matte on the lid but the shimmer makes them even easier to blend which is great for me. All the shades are super pigmented but especially the pink/red ones as they are so vibrant and I love it! I was a little worried there would be staining from the shadows because they are so long-wearing, but they melt away with makeup remover or cleanser perfectly.

Overall I am so so impressed with this palette from ABH, it ticks all the boxes and I can’t wait to get even more use out of it as it can be worn in a really wearable, subtle way or really striking for a more dramatic effect. I would recommend this pallette to everyone!
