Current Top 5 Favourite Foundations

Recently, foundation has been my favourite part of doing my makeup so I wanted to share my current top 5 foundation favourites.

I know the shades do vary here – each one matches me at different stages of my fake tan, from fresh, dark tan to when it has nearly faded out! These are more my summer shades. For reference, my natural skin shade is about an NC15 in MAC.

First is the L’oreal True Match Foundation in ‘W3 Golden Beige’. This is such a lovely foundation, it has medium coverage, good lasting power and makes my face look so healthy and glowing. I love the shade as it matches my tan brilliantly. It can be built up to fuller coverage and i love applying with either a brush or a sponge. I’d give this one 8/10

Next is the EX1 Invisiwear Foundation in the shade’F100′. This one is flawless. Seriously, this is my foundation when I want my skin to look perfect in photos! It gives pretty full coverage, it is quite thick in consistency but blends out beautifully. I prefer applying this one with a sponge. It can look a little too thick in real life though, so I’d give this one 7 out of 10.

Then I’ve been using the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in the colour ‘200 Soft Beige’ as well as ‘103 True Ivory’ depending on my tan. This was the first ever foundation I tried and I have bought it again years later, to find that it is actually an amazing foundation still! It has medium, natural coverage, a lovely, smooth consitency and I prfer applying this one with a brush to add coverage. It lasts beautifully too. 7 out of 10.

I seriously love this one. It is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in ’52 Vanilla’. This foundation has the most beautiful, healthy, natural finish ever. You can build it up to a fuller coverage too. It photographs well and the undertone of this foundation is spot on. This never looks thick on the skin and blends brilliantly with concealers, powders etc whilst still giving you a glow. 10 out of 10, love it!

Finally, I have been loving the Nars Sheer Glow in the shade ‘Deauville’. Whilst Ipersonally  find this foundation to be a little over-hyped, it is still a great foundation and I’ve been reaching for it a lot. It provides medium to full coverage, looks lovely in photos and does make your skin look gorgeous. I can feel this on my skin though, which was a bit of a shame but I’ve still been reaching for it lots! 7 out of 10 for this one.

So thats it! My opinions on foundations can change a lot – some days I have one as my favourite then the next I’ve had enough of it! So I like to keep a few favourites that I can switch between to stop me getting bored of the same one. Let me know your favourite foundations as I love trying new ones!

I like the sound of the Bourjois Healthy Mix especially I’m looking for something that brightens up my face. Will note this one down 🙂

I’ve actually been avoiding foundation recently, mostly cause I realized two of my favorites were breaking me out (one being Nars Sheer Glow) :(. I totally need to see if I can find my shade in the bourjois foundation! It sounds basically perfect 🙂

That’s a coincidence, I’ve been having this week off from foundation too! Sometimes it’s good to give your skin a break isn’t it! I really recommend the bourjois one, it’s my all time favourite so far xxx

My go-to is Rimmel Match Perfection, but I use Light Porcelain as I am so pale! I am on the lookout for a new foundation so I can vary it up a bit and experiment, and I am liking the sound of the Bourgois foundation! Might have to give it a try! xx
