Today I wanted to share my face of the day with you! On an average makeup-wearing day, I don’t wear too much, just enhancing my natural features really. An even base, defined brows and mascara. Plus some lipstick or gloss if I fancy something extra!
Once I have moisturised and primed, I love using a medium coverage foundation to hide any redness and even out my skin! Today I used the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, I have mine in the shade ‘Deauville’. I’ve either been working it in with my hands (the only foundation I would apply in that way!) or using a beauty blender for a more natural effect.
For concealer, I have been liking the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the colour ’15’. This is lovely to highlight with, it feels very light but has good pigmentation. I have trouble with all concealers creasing slightly under my eyes but this only creases slightly, I think this is because it is actually quite a moisturising concealer.
The Rimmel Clear Complexion Powder is a fab one just to set concealer in place. I bought this instead of my usual Stay Matte to see if it was any different, but it is in fact very similar! I find setting the Nars foundation with powder can get a little thick looking on my skin, so I only use a little powder in concealed areas.
Very lightly, I bronzed my skin with the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in the shade ‘Sunny’. Its quite warm toned so definitely not for contouring on my skin tone! I also applied this all over the eyelid and blended up to the crease. I was feeling inspired by autumn tones and using a bronzer means you don’t need to dig out orange shadows, a multi use product!
As always, I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the colour ‘Medium Brown’. The colour is perfect for me, it matches brilliantly. I sometimes add powder over the top to set my brows in place, but today I kept it slightly more natural and just used the pomade.
To finish my eyes, I added a little brown liner to my waterline for some subtle definition. I used the Miss Sporty Mini-me Eye Liner – this one is cheap and cheerful but does the job perfectly! Lastly for the eyes, I added a couple of coats of my current favourite mascara which is the Loreal Telescopic Mascara. Its super black so it is brilliant to really define your lashes.
Today I used ‘Velvet Teddy’ from Mac to my lips, then added a tiny bit of this Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss from Soap and Glory to add a sheen to the matte lipstick. Lovely and natural, I much prefer nude lipsticks at the moment.
And that is everything! A natural makeup look for every day. Please let me know if you enjoy these type of ‘Face Of The Day Posts’ as I could feature a weekly post if you do!
