I can’t believe it is November already! October has gone in a flash, it felt like the fastest month of the year. I’m not complaining though, my favourite time of year is just around the corner, I’m already resisting the urge to watch a Christmas film!
There have definitely been some set favourites of this month, mostly beauty products and a few extras too. I’ve also decorated my bedroom this month so I’ve bought quite a few little homewear bits, please let me know if home bits would be good to read about on my blog and I will share them with you!
I’ve set myself a goal to read a book each month. I used to read sooo many books all the time, but life gets busy and social media takes over, reading got forgotten. I’ve started gently, with one of my favourite books. It is the Single Girl’s To-Do List by Lindsey Kelk. She is one of my favourite authors, I love light-hearted, feel-good books with a brilliant plot and her books are exactly this!
Autumn seems a great time to get reading too, as you can grab a blanket and snuggle down with a book. So cosy!
I’ve been using this non-stop this month – it is the Clinique High Impact Mascara. This is just a sample size which came from a gift set form House Of Fraser. I love samples of more high-end mascaras, as it gives you a chance to try the formula and brush before you purchase, as you can’t swatch mascaras in the same way you can a powder or eye shadow.
I’ve been using plastic wand mascaras for a while now, but this is a brush which I’ve found gives my lashes so much volume. It is a really black formula so it defines your lashes as well as seperating. I think I’ll be buying the full size of this one!
Next is the Kiko Intensively Lavish Lipstick in the shade 01. I bought this one a while ago from the Rebel Romantic Collection and I have only just got round to using it. I was definitely drawn in by the gorgeous packaging, I adore rose gold and the pattern on the actual lipstick is beautiful, it seems so luxurious!
I think Kiko do fantastically well at their limited edition collections, they always create something eye-catching and unique. This lipstick isn’t available anymore unfortunately, but I’m going to have a look through my collection to see if I have any similar ones.
I just wanted to quickly mention two brushes I have been using lots this month. The Real Techniques Stippling Brush has been rediscovered! This one is lovely for really working foundation into the skin. I’ve had this brush for years and it is still in perfect condition 0 Real Techniques are by far the best quality makeup brushes I have tried.
Secondly, I found my Number 7 Shade and Contour Eyeshadow brush. This is a fab little brush for blending with. It is so soft so doesn’t feel scratchy on your eye as some brushes can! It washes brilliantly, and does a lot of the hard work for you as you blend shadows into your crease.
I bought the Simply Pure Hydrating Serum recently (blog post here) and I honestly used it every day since. It is a fantastic, affordable serum that moisturises your skin without any fancy extras. You get plenty for your money, it is completely fragrance free so doesn’t irritate your skin – what more could you want? I can’t recommend this one enough.
Finally, I have been loving The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask. I raved about how much I love the Vitamin E range last week ( blog post here!) and this is another fantastic product. It feels almost like jelly in the tub, but it is a cream mask you apply to your skin and simply leave onto absorb.
You can either remove with cotton wool or a tissue if you need to go about your day and apply makeup, but I tend to use this either last thing at night or when I have a quiet day at home, then I simply leave to absorb overnight. This provides intense moisture that really sinks into your skin. This is one of my autumn/winter staple products!
So those have been my favourite products for the month of October. I hope your enjoyed reading, which products have you loved this month? X
