Last week my boyfriend and I took a trip to Westonbirt Arboretum as it seemed like the perfect time of year to go. He has the week off work so going mid-week meant avoiding all the traffic which was so handy.
I talked in my Things To Do In Autumn blogpost about getting out for a walk in the woods so we decided to get out and do it!
The colours of the trees are just amazing so this is going to be quite a picture-heavy blog post, sorry in advance!
How beautiful is this view? The colours are amazing, this is one of the best ways to enjoy autumn. The gardens and woods here are kept in the most amazing condition, everything looked stunning.
In total we spent about 4 or 5 hours including a picnic! So there is definitely a day’s worth of time to be spent there, so much to see and lots of different walks. There was quite a few places to get food and even though we visited during the middle of the week, it was still super busy – I can imagine this could be their busiest time of year!
The weather was mostly cloudy with some sunny spots but super cold, definitely the weather for mittens and bobble hats. I loved the cold weather though, it fitted with the autumn theme!
It was so lovely to be somewhere so quiet and peaceful. Sometimes is was completely quiet, it makes me realise how noisy everywhere else is really!
Getting outside makes me feel so much better. It is definitely good to get out, spending too much time indoors makes me feel a bit claustrophobic after a while. It was so nice to go somewhere different and breath fresh air!
There were so many conkers and chestnuts to collect. Warning though, they are super sharp if you try to get them out yourself, they need stamping on to crack them open haha!
I love the views where you can sort of see over the forest, so pretty.
I caught this picture of a ladybird taking flight on his shoulder. I love ladybirds, they are a nice creepy crawly.
The red leaves on this tree are absolutely amazing! So pretty, its hard to imagine that it isn’t an artificial colour really.
If you haven’t already been out and about for an autumnal walk, this is definitely the best time to go as all the leaves are turning these amazing colours and starting to fall already.
I’m still trying to make the most of Autumn before my favourite season arrives – I’m trying to enjoy right now rather than wishing the time away haha!
