Books I’m Currently Reading #2

Today I wanted to chat about the books I’m reading at the moment. One of my first posts on here was ‘What I Am Currently Reading’ blog post so I thought I would bring it back for another edition!

I’ve been making an effort to spend more time reading. I think it is so easy to just switch the tv on or scroll down feeds, but reading seems much more worth while.

First, I am re-reading ‘I Heart Christmas’ by Lindsey Kelk, one of my favourite authors. This is such a great book to read to get in the festive spirit! It is a lovely story, set in New York and it is part of the I Heart series. I always like to read this one around November/December time as Christmas starts to come around. This is quite an easy read, so I find it relaxing, it’s never a chore to read if that makes sense.

The other book I’m reading at the moment is ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee. I first read this book about 5 years ago at school, but I really love it. It is a comforting story to me, and I love the black and white film version with Gregory Peck too. It is such a classic story, with beautiful messages and hidden meanings. If you haven’t read this book, I think it is a must-read!

Finally some food based reading! I really love pasta. It is my absolute favourite food of all time, hands down. So I’ve been reading Gino’s Pasta over the last few weeks to get some new ideas for pasta recipes, because it is really easy to just make the same few pasta dishes over and over. This is fab for recipes and just inspiration for meals too. Plus there are plenty of vegetarian recipes which is brilliant.

Which books are you reading currently? x

‘I Heart Christmas’ sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for – thank you! There’s something really cosy about rereading a favourite book around the same time each year. I used to always do it with the Harry Potter books when I was younger haha. We also read ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ in school years and years ago – it’s really well written and a really accessible classic, if that makes sense! xx

I read “To kill a Mockingbird” about a year ago – and I have the exact same edition as yours with that beautiful front page. The book is so beautifully written, I can’t even. Think I will have to re-read it one day. But currently I am on Harper Lee’s second book – “Go Set a Watchman”. xx

I heard that Atticus isn’t the same person that he was in TKAM; he’s become quite bitter and resentful apparently. And I think Atticus is one of the most well written characters in literature and don’t want that image of him ruined lol xx

I heard that too, the story is very perfect in my head so it does feel a bit risky to hear how things change! I know exactly what you mean xxx
