I’ve down-sized my handbag recently, I found that I was carrying around way too much in my larger bag. I think that is the problem with big handbags – they seem practical, but in reality, I ended up carrying around lots of things I just didn’t need or use.
My boyfriend actually bought me this pretty red bag! It is from Zara and I love it. The colour is amazing, as I wear a lot of black and grey shades so this adds an accent colour to any outfit. I have found it is just the right size to fit everything I need in.
First, I always have hand cream in my bag! A smaller bag meant down-sizing on my hand cream too. This little one is from Oliver Bonas, which I got for Christmas. It smells amazing- the citrus scent is lovely and fresh. I actually love the design of the packaging, colourful and fun.
My card holder is from Mango. I have a whole blog post about this card holder up already. I started using it last year, and it is so handy to just grab and put in your pocket, bag or just slip into another purse, rather than carrying around a bulky purse.
One tip I would add is to always keep a card holder in a safe place – I know I lost mine a couple of times at the beginning haha!
I have been keeping my Soap And Glory Kick-Ass Concealer pot in my bag as I find it really useful. It has a little mirror, a setting powder and two concealer shades, making it ideal to keep for on the go touch-ups. That is one of the best parts about this concealer – it is so convenient to use!
I also keep a couple of sample perfumes in my bag. I always save the ones that you get given at counters, as they are an easy, light-weight way to carry a fragrance around! This one is the Tom Ford Velvet Orchid scent. I have the full size of this one and adore it, so this way I can use it when I am out too.
Finally, I still keep one of my old habits – too many lip products haha! I’ve condensed it down though, I usually just keep a lip balm, lipgloss, and whichever lipstick I am wearing that day.
This is the Burts Bees Lipbalm, which has been one of my favourites for years! It hydrates without any colour so I love it for every day. This one also sits really well under matte or liquid lipsticks without altering the finish of the lip product.
My current favourite lip-combo is ‘Faux’ lipstick from MAC, paired with this ELF Mineral Lipgloss, Together, these give a really pretty, neutral pink hue which I love for this time of year! I am so excited for Spring to arrive, anyone else?
I thought I would include a photo of the bag from the front, how cute is it? I love the little gold beetle on the front, I am currently wearing a pendant with a bumble bee on so I feel like my outfit is very insect themed today haha.
I hope you enjoyed this post, what are your handbag essentials?
