Favourite Nail Polish: Pink, Nude & Grey

My all-time favourite colours to wear on my nails are pinks and neutrals. I find them so easy to wear, they match any outfit and don’t show signs of wear as much as bolder colours. Today I am sharing my 3 go-to colours for when I need my nails to last, as these are all colours I just don’t get bored of, nor do they clash with other colours. These are all pretty affordable, with Essie being slightly more expensive but still all under £10, all high-street finds.

First is this Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in the colour ‘Winning Streak’ is a neutral, beige colour with some pinky undertones. It looks super flattering on the nails, and against any skin tone. Sometimes this looks more pink, depending on the light, but generally, this is pretty neutral, so is subtle. I would go for shades like this at a job interview too, something that doesn’t distract away from you but adds to a ‘polished’ overall look. I would say this is the least long lasting of the three colours, so adding a top coat prevents it from chipping.

Next is Essie’s ‘Not Just A Pretty Face’. This is one of my favourite nail polish colours of all time, yet I feel like it is barely talked about. This is the most gorgeous, pink-nude shade. It is soft and pretty on the nails, and gives the look of a proper salon manicure, simply by being such a classy colour. This looks so pretty with a tan too. Something I love about this polish is that it is sheer, so you get total control of the finished look. One coat gives a sheer, ‘french manicured’ finish that looks really natural. Two or three coats gives a pretty opaque look, and I think I have even used four coats before to give total opacity. Honestly, if you haven’t tried this one before, I would really recommend giving it a go. This has amazing lasting power too, it has never really chipped on me which is great.

Finally, this is the Collection 7 Day Wear Nail Polish in the colour ‘Pebble Grey’. I was looking everywhere for a soft, light grey nail polish, and I found the perfect shade on the Collection makeup stand in Superdrug. This is another of those shades that look gorgeous on any skin tone. It is a blue-toned, soft neutral grey shade. This is a shade I reach for so often, because it stands out more than a nude shade, but stays easy-to-wear. I totally agree with the ‘7 day’ claim, this does last really well on my nails, especially with a topcoat.

I love all three shades! I’m like you and prefer neutrals and blush colours for nails as they’re a little more subtle 🙂 This soft blue-y kind of grey is my favourite atm! xxx ps. I love your photo props!
