MAC Lipstick Collection

Today I wanted to show you through my mini MAC lipstick collection. And I say mini because I have only 3! How minimalist of me. I don;t wear a lot of lipsticks, nor do I go for really bright shades, so I only have my very favourite colours that I know suit me and that I wear over and over again. You will definitely spot a theme here, of nude, brown and pink tones! Very universal colours for me, that seem to go with any makeup look!

So from left to right, I have Velvet Teddy, Honeylove and Faux.

Velvet Teddy – This one is warm toned, pink-brown nude shade, a cult favourite colour that I know so many people love. This one is a matte finish, but wears really nicely, I don’t find it to be drying. This is definitely a blog/youtube inspired purchase, as for a while everyone was talking about this colour, so I knew I wanted to try it. It is a really pretty shade, that looks so flattering on. It is a slightly darker nude, so when I am wearing fake tan, this is more of a true nude colour, but against my natural pale skin it can look pretty dark, so I like how versatile it is. I would say this is a good MAC lipstick for your first colour, especially as you don’t really need a lip liner with it.

Honeylove – This is another warm toned shade, this time it is more of a true nude. This is a lighter shade, so I love reaching for this when I have more eye makeup on, as a more neutral lip allows the eyes to pop! This is a matte shade again, but I have to say, this one seems to cling to any dry patches more than Velvet Teddy. Out of the three shades I have, I would say this one goes with most makeup looks so I often carry this one in my bag, as I know it will always match! This one pairs beautifully with MAC Stripdown lip liner, they look so good together.

Faux – This one is a mauve-toned pink shade, but I’d still call this a nude colour. This is a gorgeous colour. It is one of those perfect ‘my-lips-but-better’ shades – it looks young and pretty on the lips. This one is a satin finish, which is my favourite lipstick finish because it feels really comfortable to wear but still dries down to have pretty good staying power. I feel like you can apply a tiny bit of this for just a wash of colour, or build it up for a more opaque, flawless look. I use this both with and without a liner – you don’t really need one but a liner is a nice addition.

Swatches from left to right – Velvet Teddy, Honeylove and Faux.

What are your favourite MAC lipsticks – are there any other colours I need to add to my collection?

This is so great because I just posted my favorite Nude lipstick/glosses and have been on the prowl for new brands and it’s like you just knew and posted this for me 🙂 I’ve heard review on review for Velvet Teddy, everyone always says if you like nudes you’ll love velvet teddy. I’m loving the looks of it from your swatch, yet I’m also loving Honeylove as well! I need to get to a MAC store so I can try both of them out like now!!!

Everyone keeps talking about Velvet Teddy, and though I’m not a nude lip fan, I’d like to try it out!
