When I travel, I like to keep things more simple when it comes to my skincare routine. Stripping it back to basic, staple products stops me from over-packing and bringing products I may not even use! Last week I went to Devon (blog post linked here!) and these were exactly the products I took with me.
Keeping cleansing simple, I just used my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. This removes all makeup from my skin with two uses. I always find this comes as a versatile product, using it to clean my skin at night or give it a quick refresh in the morning. Plus cleaning up eye shadow if you are wearing more dramatic makeup! This is one of my favourite beauty products so since last week I have been trying out the Gel Wash version, which I reviewed here.
For serum, I had to choose The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid! I’m using this twice a day at the moment, my skin just seems to love drinking it up. It is ideal for those with dehydrated skin and paired with a moisturiser, it makes a perfect base for makeup. I have a full review of this serum up on my blog already – I highly recommend this one as it is such good value for money.
I took a mix of moisturisers – for the day time I tried out the Simply Pure Light Moisturiser from Superdrug which I bought while I was away. This is a lovely basic moisturiser, but my skin needs something a little more heavy duty at the moment! At night, I reached for the Botanics Hydrating All Bright Night Cream which I love. It leave my skin so incredibly soft by the morning.
Of course, I brought my Skin Defense from The Body Shop which is my all-time favourite SPF! I use this every single day, it works as a moisturiser too really. It sits perfectly under makeup and sinks in instantly – perfect.
Finally, I always take a lip balm around with me! This is the Burt’s Bees lip balm which I have used for years now. It hydrates without being sticky or super glossy – it has a lovely natural, almost-matte finish.
