Weekend Trip #1: Clifton Village

Happy Bank Holiday! Today is a Monday, so everybody has a day off – unfortunately the sun isn’t anywhere to be seen. I wanted to chat through my weekend though, as my boyfriend and I decided to go out for brunch as the weather was so beautiful yesterday.

Clifton is my favourite part of the city of Bristol, lots of lovely places to have delicious meals or shops for browsing. I always visit the Papersmiths stationary shop (lots of quirky and cute stationary) and usually we go to the Primrose Cafe which is lovely too.

We decided to try somewhere different for food, so we decided to head to The Ivy Clifton Brasserie. The Ivy has such gorgous food. It is a greta places to go if you want to dress up a little and have a real treat. I had eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, avocado and chips and Ollie went for a steak sandwich. Both our brunch meals were so tasty, really delicious. I know there is another Ivy resturaunt in London and possibly more around the UK. If you get the chance to go, it is a really lovely place to go for a treat meal.

It was so warm yesterday – we had an ice cream too (Mr Whippy of course!) and just sat on the green. My favourite days are ones without too much structure, where you just do whatever you fancy. I love looking in the independent shops around Clifton – perfect if you need to find a gift for someone. I love exploring new places, so I want to start looking at where we could go on our next trip abroad, I think Barcelona sounds so much fun.

Clifton is full of elegant-looking houses, with bright doors and walls and pretty windows. I wish I had bay windows where I live – I feel like they are perfect for putting a Christmas tree in! We had a very lazy rest of the day. Cream tea in the afternoon (who doesn’t love scones??) and binge-watching the last series of Love Island before the new series starts next week. Got to love trash TV. Also, if you haven’t seen it already, we watched White Gold which is a new BBC3 series that was actually pretty funny, if a little controversial!

Where are your favourite places to visit? I would love to know your favourite towns/cities to go to for a trip!
