This foundations is game-changing. Honestly, I am obsessed with it. If you saw my post reviewing both of the foundations from The Ordinary, you’ll have seen that one of those was the Serum Foundation. Now, whilst I have loved using both, the stand-out for me has to be the Serum Foundation. It is incredible – I wanted to chat more about it today as I have been using it for a while now.
The Ultimate Base Product
As a little overview, this foundation retails at £5.70, and comes in a 30 ml bottle with a pump. It has SPF 15 and comes in 20 different shades. I went into detail about picking your shade and the undertones in the first impressions blog post so be sure to check that out!
The idea behind the serum foundation is that it provides sheer-medium coverage but feels weightless on the skin. This description is spot-on. You truly cannot feel this product on your skin, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. This base does not feel cakey or heavy on my skin at any time through the day.
It needs a good shake before you use it, to mix it up. This product has a very liquid formula – it would definitely slide off if you tried to pump it straight onto your skin. My favourite way to apply this is with a buffing brush, to really work it into my skin and buff it in for the most natural look.
Using this foundation makes me realise that I just don’t need as much foundation as I usually use. I do love a full-coverage look now and again, but I am lucky to have pretty clear skin. Letting it breathe more by wearing a light-weight serum is definitely doing it good, especially as I wear makeup most days for work.
Shades
I have mine in the shade 1.2Y which has yellow undertones. On an average day, I wear a layer of the Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Foam and this one matches it perfectly. As you can see from the photo, this shade doesn’t match my natural skin-tone, so I just mix it with some lightening drops
For a little over £5, you really need to try this. The formula feels lovely on my skin which is more dry, but the formula is light and oil-free so ideal for oily skins too. I am so impressed, I know I will be picking up more shades to match my skin throughout the year!
Have you tried this foundation – what are your thoughts on it?
I’ve only ever seen their skincare range, I’ve never heard about their make-up so this was really interesting!

I really love this too! I wasn’t expecting to be as into it as I am 🙂 I definitely agree you don’t have to wear a full coverage base every day
