Dare I say it, but summer seems to have finally arrived! I feel like from June to August, I really switch things up with my skincare routine. From day to day, I don’t need my moisturisers to be thick and balm-like anymore, so I can change it up, choosing lighter, glowy products to brighten and enhance. I have three products that I have been using non-stop, so I am sharing them today.
So, normally I reach for really hydrating, hyaluronic acid-rich serums to combat my dry skin (my current favourite for this is the Hyaluronic Serum from The Ordinary by the way – perfect for dehydrated skin!)
This serum however, is a little different. The focus is on plumping and tightening for a quick skin fix. I am only 20, with no wrinkles on my skin yet! But I do have fine lines which seem to be much less noticeable when I wear this serum. For the day time, this is a lovely serum to smooth onto your skin after a shower. Dry skinned folk will need to follow up with a good moisturiser though, which brings me onto….
This has to be the most summery-looking bottle out there! The lovely blue shade just makes me think of Greek Islands and infinity pools. This was a spontaneous purchase (mostly due to the beautiful packaging) but I actually love the moisturiser itself.
It is made for dehydrated/dry skins – each time you use this, it feels like the skin’s thirst for moisture has been quenched. It does feel a little strange to use a gel-liquid product instead of a cream moisturiser at first. It feels like a serum really, full of hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin. It doesn’t sit heavy on the skin at all – it absorbs quickly but leaves a little glow which looks very pretty. For summer, this is the perfect moisturiser.
If you asked me to pick the best skincare product I have tried, I would pick The Body Shop Skin Defence, without a doubt. I am from the school of thought that you should wear sun protection on your skin everyday. This is lightweight and moisturising but not greasy in the slightest. It sits well on top of other skincare and makes a lovely base for makeup. I honestly cannot fault this, it keeps my skin protected and healthy.

So there we have it! 3 easy steps to healthy, glowing skin for summer. These are pretty universal products for different skin types. I’m finding that I am wearing much less makeup now that the warm weather is here!
