The Body Shop is one of my favourite places to wander into and treat myself to a few new products. Their range is always reasonably priced, good quality and full of exciting new releases. Plus, their sales are amazing!
I had to pop out during my lunch break last week and found myself being drawn in by the sale sign, plus 40% off. Hats off to you if you have the will power to resist a deal like that! I was quite restrained, and managed to get some brilliant products without breaking the bank.
(There was one thing I resisted buying, which was the Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream which looks incredible. I am definitely heading back soon to pick it up – slightly more pricey but it looked perfect for nourishing dry skin!)
So what did I buy?
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you will probably have heard me rave about this SPF before. This is the Skin Defence Multi-protection Essense. This is a facial cream with SPF, which sounds pretty standard. But, you need to try this – it is without a doubt my most used product in my collection. I have gone through so many bottles!
Wearing SPF is really important. The sun is the number one cause of skin’s ageing so I always use a high sun protection on my face daily. I have tried lots, but unfortunately, there are many on the market that i just didn’t get on with. Some felt too thick, some left a white cast on my skin, clogged my pores or simply wouldn’t sit well under makeup. This one is so different. It feels like a lovely light moisturiser on my skin, and makes a lovely base for makeup. I don’t have any of the previous problems I listed anymore, so this has become my holy-grail face product.
When I spotted that they now sell this bigger version, it was so much better value! A bigger tube is perfect as I use this daily, so I do go through it quite quickly.
From the sale, I couldn’t resist a couple of shower gels. The Body Shop shower gels always feel like a treat – and these were in the sale for around £2-£3 each!
I bought the Pinita Colada shower gel because it simply smells like summer. I’m very set in my Autumn/Winter ways, so I almost have to force myself to use summery products! I hadn’t tried this one before, so when I tried the scent in the shop, it went straight to the till with me!
The best way to describe this scent (if you haven’t smelt Pina Colada before) is like a mix of coconut and pinapple. It isn’t sickly sweet at all, just a lovely fruity scent that makes me think of holidays and cocktails.
Clearly I’m not the only one who was drawn in by the scent, as it is unfortunately out of stock! But the good news is that the body scrub and body sorbet from the range are still in stock – and reduced in the sale too! If you want to be whisked away to a beach holiday with a scent, these are worth a try.
Leading on from my last comment, I accidentally picked up something festive. Whoops! I can’t help it, I am already dreaming of cold, frosty days and the festive build up. I could talk about how excited I am for Autumn all day. Help, how do I stop thinking about this in JULY?
I couldn’t resist the Spiced Apple Shower Gel. This is Christmas in a bottle. It smells like December, cinnamon and red apples. Yum. I can imagine using this throughout the autumn and winter, just to add a bit of seasonal scent to my shower each day. I’ve hidden this away, and I won’t using it until the end of the year (that is the plan anyway).
Finally, another repurchase. I actually picked this one up for my mum, who didn’t want quite a high an SPF as the 50 one I use. This is another Body Shop moisturiser I have loved for years. This is the Vitamin C Glow Protect Lotion with SPF 30. It is definitely glow boosting, but without being full of glitter. This glow comes from the glossy formula itself, that hydrates your skin all day long without being greasy.
It is made to target dull, tired and grumpy skin which it certainly helps to combat. This smells amazing, like fresh sweet oranges (as the packaging would suggest!)
So that was everything I bought in my little haul from The Body Shop. They currently still have 40% off so definitely have a look on the website for any bargains. Do you have any favourites from The Body Shop?
