Buying yourself to a luxury beauty product feels like such a treat. As much as I love my high-street makeup and beauty dupes, sometimes it is lovely to spend some extra money on something more special. I have put together this post with a few high end makeup picks that I have been loving recently!
This post is sponsored by Clive Christian.
This was one of the first high-end foundations I tried. This is talked about so much in the beauty world, so it only felt right that I should try it.
So the Sheer Glow foundation on me, is a medium coverage, satin-glowing finish. It retails at around £30 but you don’t need to pile this one on at all, so a little does go a long way. I have the colour ‘Light 4 / Deauville’ which matches me perfectly in the summer or when I have some gradual tan on in the winter. It isn’t the most long-lasting but it does look lovely on the skin and photographs really well.
Clive Christian Bergamot Perfume
I was recently contacted by Clive Christian and was kindly sent some of their perfume samples. These smell incredible! The best way to describe the scents is to explain how rich and deep they smell. You can pick out the different notes and you can tell that these aren’t high-street perfumes. The lasting power is incredible!
I think my favourite has to be the Mimosa scent. Again, a little goes a long way so a bottle of this would last you such a long time. The 10ml bottles are perfect for a real treat.
Again, MAC lipsticks are one of those products that feel like a rite of passage if you are new to the world of high-end makeup. They won’t break the bank, but still feel like a little treat! I have a couple of shades (all nude shades which won’t come as a surprise!) which I shared in my MAC Lipstick Collection.
This particular colour is Honeylove, a natural, very light brown toned nude that simply goes with every makeup look. It is a matte finish, which are surprisingly comfortable to wear. My favourite finish that MAC make are the satin ones, Faux is a perfect example of a good satin finish.
Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Gloss
Another lip product! This is the Pure Colour Envy Lipgloss from Estee Lauder in the colour ‘Reckless Bloom’. I love this gloss! It is my favourite to layer on top of matte lipsticks for a softer, glossy look with added shimmer. In fact, this has just the right formula. Not packed full of chunky glitter, but a gold iridescence to it.
When I was younger, I used to stay away from glosses as I thought they were all sticky but I have a few firm favourites now, and this is one of them. Alone or over a lipstick, this is one that I reach for a lot.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
A base product that seems to be a favourite for so many people. This tinted moisturiser is hydrating, light-weight but with a lovely natural coverage too. This the shade ‘Nude’, I actually bought this one for my mum as it is her favourite base to wear!
They have an oil-free version too and a primer that I would love to try too. Laura Mercier just seem to get it right. I think this would be the perfect summer base product – light but adding some colour and coverage to your skin. You can mix this with more moisturiser too if you like things really glowy!
