I’ve chosen 3 of my go-to nail polish colours in the summer months. Before we know it, Autumn will be here (yay!) and I’ll be back to those richer, autumnal shades. So, here are three to try before the summer is over.
I have finally got my nails back to a long, healthy condition! I am so pleased with them, it is all down to the OPI Nail Envy which I have a dedicated blog post all about. The only nail strengthener I have really found to work, so now I always keep one in my collection.
I tend to paint my nails about once a week or so. When my nails are a good length, I find that polish chips less so I repaint for a change of colour rather than necessity. Alongside my weekday job, I also work in a hair salon once a week. The ultimate test for a new nail polish is whether it can last through a day at the salon! If it does, it gets a thumbs up from me for being long-wearing.
This is a gorgeous, bright orange colour. A really rich, true vermilion shade that looks so summery. Perfect against a tan! The formula of the Essie polishes always impresses me. Long-lasting, plus I can wear this for at least a week with no chipping. If you want to go for a bright shade, this one is lovely, especially for a holiday.
Next Purple Haze
Next is a gel-effect polish that is actually from Next! Don’t be fooled though, this one packs a punch. It came in a set of 4 for £10 with other pinky shades. The colour ‘Purple Haze’ is my favourite though. It strikes a balance between pink and purple, depending on the light you are in. This is a gel-effect varnish, and once you have a topcoat on, it really does look like a glossy gel polish! Win-win.
Barry M Winning Streak
Of course I had to include a pink-nude shade! But hold on, this is a light shade so it still feels summery. Naturally, this is the type of shade I reach for the most, as it is just so wearable. It goes with any outfit as it is quite neutral too. I love these universal colours as they suit any skin tone too. This formula isn’t quite as long-lasting but for only a few pounds, you can’t go wrong!
