Skincare is currently my favourite beauty product to test out. More specifically, I have been loving all the new hydrating products that are being released at the moment. As a dry and dehydrated skinned girl, I love a good ‘hydra’ moisturiser. Hyaluronic acid is like a magic ingredient that I only discovered last year, yet I notice an incredible difference when I use hydrating products.
Through the summer months especially, my skin leans more on the dehydrated side. The easiest way to tell if your skin is dehydrated is whether water makes a difference. If yous kin looks plumper, glowing and softer immediately after a shower, it is worth grabbing a hydrating serum. I promise you will notice a difference.
Price & Packaging.
So, the Neutrogena Gel retails at around £13, but at the time of writing, it is currently on offer here in Boots for £6.49! For this, you get 50ml of product. For me, this is excellent value. You only need a small amount to use on your skin, so I can see this lasting a really long time.
The pot has a screw-top lid so you can just get as much as you need. Possibly not the most hygenic of packaging as you have to dip in to get the gel, but I guess this isn’t a problem as you’d always be applying skincare with really clean hands anyway!
Worth A Try?
This is absolutely worth trying! Honestly, I have used this twice daily since I bought it and I would now feel a little lost without it. If you have dry or dehydrated skin, I think this really could help. So, I apply this onto my skin when I have washed my face. I use about a 5p sized amount, but even that is probably more than I need.
It has a very subtle scent, which is just fresh and slightly sweet. It doesn’t feel heavily fragranced at all, but worth mentioning anyway. As you work this onto your skin, it feels ultra-cooling and soothing. This would be a great choice if you got sun-burnt, it would make a brilliant after-sun!
Once it is on your skin, it starts to sink in to almost nothing. You can’t really feel it – which was strange to me at first. I normally have to layer on thick moisturisers, but this does the job perfectly without sitting thick or heavily. Follow with SPF and you are good to go. An excellent base for makeup too.
