Creating A Feature Wall With Desenio

Feature walls are the perfect way to bring life to a plain space. Today’s blog post is in collaboration with Desenio, who make the most beautiful prints and frames!

The Scandinavian brand will have a poster to meet your style, no matter what that may be. From quotes, to animal photos, florals and patterns! I was so kindly given a budget to put together a my own feature wall. I decided to go for a real mixture, as I had seen so many gorgeous Pinterest-esque walls with a mis-matched theme.

Sizing is a big factor when planning out a photo wall. You need to work out how much space you have to work with as a start, and then think about the size of your photos or prints. We decided to go for one really large, eye-catching print with a few smaller ones leading off. I love a mix of sizes! But, I have seen some very beautiful walls that look uniform and symmetrical too. The best way too plan is to draw out a little plan of the wall, to get the best idea of how each frame will look.

Desenio also sell frames to match every size of print. A gallery wall looks so complete with frames to each photo. They sell a mix of wood and metal ones. I have to say, the metal frames are just perfect! We chose one gold and one copper frame to really clash the two metals. I am really impressed by the quality of these.

When attaching your frames, be sure to use a tape measure, and preferably a spirit level to check everything is in line. My boyfriend and I spent a long time on this! If you don’t want to use nails in your wall, I’d highly recommend buying some of the velcro-style adhesive strips. These hold up the frames brilliantly yet don’t leave a single mark on the wall (We’ve tested this!) so you could even use these prints on rented walls etc.

Desenio have kindly offered a discount off code for me to share with you all! If you use the code “marblebeauty” at the checkout, you will receive 25% off your order between the 15th-17th August. (offer doesn’t include handpicked or frames)

If you haven’t looked through their beautiful wall prints before, I recommend a browse, even if it is to just start you off with some inspiration! A gallery or feature wall is perfect for plain rooms or brightening up a dull space.

Do you have any photo walls at home?
