Beauty Products I’ve Used Up (& Reviews)

I often show you the latest beauty purchases I’ve made, but I haven’t given my overall opinion on the products once they are finished. So, here are 5 things I have used up recently, along with my thoughts and whether I would repurchase them.

Considering I use a lot of makeup and skincare, I don’t finish products very often. This is mostly down to the fact that I switch up the the beauty products I am using a lot, so things get rotated rather than used up. I’ve just come home from a lovely week in Devon, so apologies for things being quiet here on the blog. On to the reviews!

clinique take the day off balm cleanser

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

I am so upset this one is empty! I wrote a full review on the cleanser a long time ago, and it has been going strong ever since. One of the first Clinique products I’ve tried, the Take The Day Off balm certainly is one to try. A creamy solid balm that melts into your skin to remove all traces of makeup.

My favourite way to use this was as the first cleanse in a double-cleanse routine. It removes makeup so easily – no need to scrub at your skin. I love the way it leaves my skin so soft and clean feeling, without being drying or stripping. Retailing at around £22, I cannot recommend this enough. It has no scent so should work for those with sensitive skin too. Available here at Boots.

Would I repurchase? Definitely!

L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

A high-street purchase this time, the Detox clay mask from L’Oreal has remained as a staple in my skincare routine since I bought it. At around £8, it is such a great example of a face mask with visible results. I like to paint this on with a flat foundation brush to get an even coat, then leave for 10 minutes. You can see it cleaning your pores, highlighting any problem areas as it dries. So satisfying.

This mask leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and tightened, ready for skincare. I use this once every two weeks, or whenever my skin needs a deep clean. If you feel that your skin needs a detox, give this one a try. These are often on offer, so keep your eyes peeled! Shop it here for less than £8.

Would I repurchase? Yes, but I’d like to try some of the other masks in the range first!

Botanics Hydrating All Bright Night Cream

On to the last skincare item! This is the All Bright Night Cream from Botanics, which is Boots’ skincare brand. I believe they have rebranded so the packaging looks a little different now, but this one is still on sale (find it here). This night cream is a sneaky little product – I must have been reaching for it a lot more than I realised! Retailing at just £2.50, it contains plant-based AH acids which leave your skin feeling so glowy and soft by the next morning.

Paired with a hydrating serum, this is the perfect recipe for moisturised, happy skin. This little bargain pot has lasted me such a long time, always leaving good results.

Would I repurchase it? Yep I think so, if I needed a night cream on a budget!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Now a couple of makeup products that I have used up! First is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara in ‘Intense Black’. As you’ll know if you’re a regular reader, this is my all-time favourite. I can’t get enough of it! This was probably my sixth tube, it has to be my most-repurchased mascara.

At £8, it is a great dupe for the Roller Lash from Benefit. I actually prefer it! The ‘Intense Black’ version didn’t stand out as any better, as I tend to layer it up anyway. There’s not much more to say – if you like thick, voluminous, dark lashes, I think you’ll love this mascara.

Would I repurchase? I already have. Says it all really!

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer

Finally, I have used up my Radiance Reveal concealer. Sob! As I made it very clear in my full review of this concealer, it has seriously impressed me. It is hydrating, creamy and easy to blend. I have the colour 01, which is spot on (bad pun alert) for my skin tone, acting as a highlight when I wear fake tan too.

As a dry-skinned gal, I often find that concealers crease into the fine lines near my eyes. With this, I don’t have that issue at all! It feels like it is moisturising my skin, rather than drying it out. Before you spend a lot on your next concealer, this is certainly worth a try at only £8. One of my favourite beauty products!

Would I repurchase it? YES – I’m heading to Superdrug tomorrow!

What are your staple beauty products?

I’m going to have to repurchase because I loved it so much – nothing melts off makeup quite like it! X

I’ve used the L’Oreal clay mask but the orange/pink/red version that’s exfoliating and I thought it was good… but I would rather try this one out! Thankfully I received a product mini or the origins charcoal mask so once that one’s done I’ll move onto L’Oreal 🙂

I noticed they seem to have added some new masks out! Might have to give one a try. Ooh what are your thoughts on the origins one? Xx

I also finished up my Cleansing Balm and Lash Sensational recently. I need to try the Bourjois concealer! It sounds like a good one.

It’s been my favourite ever since I bought it! So nice to find a concealer that isn’t drying yet provides really good coverage. Great on a budget too 🙂 x
