I love a good budget dupe. There is something so satisfying about finding the perfect match for a high-end item, for half the price! I think my favourite find this year so far has been the Gucci belt dupe. So satisfying.
I wanted to chat through another dupe I have found, this time for MAC’s Honeylove lipstick. It is actually one of my favourite shades from MAC – I’d describe it as a warm-toned, brown nude with pink undertones. A matte finish with good lasting power, it looks great with any makeup look. If you are a regular reader, you’ll know I’m all about wearable lipsticks!
Now, Honeylove will set you back around £16.50. Not the most expensive, but not great if you are on a budget, as much as I love it. So, I searched through my collection and realised I had a pretty good match…for just £2! So much less than half the price in fact. Next time you go to buy a coffee, save your pennies and pick this one up instead.
The lipstick in the spotlight is from Natural Collection, which you can buy in Boots. The whole range is really inexpensive, but there are some real gems in the collection. The Peach Melba blush is my all-time favourite!
But back to lipstick. The shade ‘Biscuit‘ is a very similar hue, if ever-so-slightly more pink toned. It just looks beautiful! I have to admit, I prefer the finish of the Natural Collection version. With a moisturising sheen, it feels a little more comfortable to wear. If you like a really matte finish to your lipsticks, an easy tip is to dust a tiny amount of translucent powder over your lips as you set the rest of your makeup. Makes everything nice and matte! I’ve swatched both next to each other below so you can see just how similar they are.
Next time you are near Boots, I really recommend picking this one up! It has to be the best value dupe for the Honeylove you’ll find.
Do you know any dupes for high-end beauty products? I’d love to try more!
