An Autumn Evening Skincare Routine

autumn evening skincare routine

My favourite season is Autumn, and I’ve switched up my skincare slightly to match the weather. Using oils and hydrating moisturisers is a staple part of my routine in the colder months, especially once the central heating comes on. Taking an extra five minutes at the end of the day to treat your skin will relax you, and your skin will thank you too!

Each evening, I remove my makeup and cleanse  (routine on cleansing coming soon) and move onto the following products. I don’t use all of them at once. I pick and choose depening on how my skin feels that day. So onto the selection…

pixi glow tonic skincare

Pixi Glow Tonic

If you haven’t used a liquid exfliator before, this is a good place to start. The glow tonic is like a toner. You apply it over cleansed skin using cotton wool, and it goes to work at exfoliating your skin. The percentage of glycolic acid is very small, so you don’t need to worry about using it daily. Personally, I reach for this one about twice each week.

It leaves my skin feeling tighter and brighter by the morning! This bottle has lasted me such a long time, making it great value for the price. The whole Pixi skincare range has impressed me, so I feel excited to try more of their products. Make sure you let this dry before moving onto the next step for the best effect.

nuxe oil skincare autumn

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Oil

So, depending on how my skin feels, I’ll either go in with a serum (below) or an oil. When my skin is dry, I love using the Nuxe Huile Prodigiuse oil. This can be used on your hair, body and face. At first I was a little nervous, as multi-use products don’t always do each of their jobs perfectly – but this is an exception.

A couple of drops massaged into my skin ensures that any dryness will be gone by morning. I also use a small amount in concentrated troublesome areas. My skin literally drinks this in the winter. Use as much as you need! Probably not the best option for skin that breaks out easily, but dry skinned people – give this one a dry. It doesn’t feel greasy at all, just realy nourishing.

hyaluronic acid the ordinary serum skincare

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum

When my skin is feeling more on the drhydrated side, I grab the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 from The Ordinary. If you haven’t heard me shout about how incredible this brand is, where have you been? They make my favourite everyday foundation of all time, and this serum is another product of theirs that has become an essential in my collection.

Hyalyronic acid occurs in your body natrually – this just gives things a boost. It is a humectant (retains moisture!) which is perfect for keeping your skin plump and hyrdrated. Ideal for any skin type really, who doesn’t want plump, young-looking skin!

bio essence night cream

Bio-essence 24K Bio-Gold Night Cream

Finally, I like to finish things off with a moisturising night cream. The Bio-Gold Night Cream from Bio-essence is my current go-to. I was very kindly sent this to try out, and it was my favourite from the collection! It has tiny flecks of gold in it, which break up as you smooth it into your skin.

For a night cream, this is suprisingly light on the skin, yet it is so moisturising at the same time. A great combination, as you don’t notice it on your skin too much, but you will wake up with nourished, hydrated skin!

What are your evening skincare essesntials in the Autumn and Winter?

The amount of stuff that I’ve bought from the Ordinary is insane (and I still have so many more things to buy!) The hylauronic acid isn’t something that I bought yet but I’ll be sure to once the weather dips down even lower.
