Winter Nail Polish Picks: Pink & Nude Tones

If I’m wearing nail polish, the chances are that it is a nude-pink shade. I know most people are reaching for the plum and red shades for this time of year, but I just can’t put the soft, pink shades away just yet.

Something about a light, rose tinted nail polish just pulls an outfit together, making the wearer look effortlessly more polished. The only time I avoid nude shades is if I’ve cut my nails really short -that is when I reach for the bright shades!

These pale, nude polishes have been on my manicure menu for the last few weeks, so I’ve compiled them all into this blog post. Ranging from super sheer and light to deeper pinks, there should be something here for everyone.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in ‘Mauve Along

‘Mauve Along’ is the perfect muted mauve shade. It is more on the ‘pink’ side of the colour wheel, but has a deeper, almost purple tone to it. This extra depth makes it a bolder colour whilst remaining cool toned.

The brush of this polish is just the righ thickness for applying to the nail in an even coat. With really high colour pigmentation, 2 coats give a really opaque colour that lasts over a week. Top it off with a top coat and I can get almost 2 weeks wear! An easy, go-to shade that I wear over and over again.

Leighton Denny Heritage Collection Nail Polish in ‘Rural Sunset‘ *

The name for this nail polish just lured me in from the beginning. It is the perfect name too – a beautiful peach toned nude that reminds me of a pink-toned sky in the evening. Leighton Denny make my favourite nail file of all time and the polishes live up to that same standard.

2 coats of this does the job nicely, but I always like to apply 3 for maximum colour! I can wear this for around 8-9 days before I see any chips – pretty amazing for a non-gel manicure. ‘Rural Sunset’ is warmer than the other two colours, so would look beautiful on any skin tone. I love pairing it with silver jewellery.

Essie Nail Polish in ‘Not Just A Pretty Face’

If you’ve read my blog for a while now, you’ll probably have heard me chat about just how much I love this nail polish colour. ‘Not Just A Pretty Face’ is just beautiful. The colour is so sheer, so for full coverage you need to apply about 4-5 coats. I honestly adore it. The light pigmentation means you have complete control of the finished colour.

I think you could wear this nail polish in any situation. For work, for school/uni/college, for job interviews, evenings out, daily life and pretty much any other occasion you can think of. Everybody should have a bottle of ‘Not Just A Pretty Face’. Flattering on all and brilliant wear-time too.
