Today I thought I’d share a few luxury lifestyle pieces that feel really special, but won’t completely break the bank! My budget beauty guide is already up for this year for those of you buying gifts for makeup lovers if you fancy a read of that too. From perfume to watches, hopefully there is something for everyone here.
Tom Ford Velvet Orchid perfume
If you’d like to buy someone a perfume this Christmas, my choice has to be something from the Tome Ford fragrance line. The luxury scents are the most long-lasting I’ve tried – and there are so many elegant, delicious scents to choose from.
My favourite perfumes are Velvet Orchid and Noir. I was given Velvet Orchid for the first time as a gift from my boyfriend a few years ago, and it felt like such a special present! I think that is why fragrance gifts always work; it is a treat that you might not buy for yourself so it feels so magical to open it on Christmas Day. Velvet Orchid is such a unique scent – it does floral notes but with a real depth which avoids it being too sweet. A perfect evening scent.
Noir Pour Femme is the female version of a rich, masculine scent that just smells incredible. In all honestly, the men’s scent is quite similar – I don’t notice much of a difference. This is one of those fragrances when you know when someone passes you in the street wearing it. Many perfumes can be too sweet for me so this is the perfect, woody scent to wear anytime.
Charlotte Tilbury lip lustre
When it comes to treating someone to luxury or higher end makeup, I’d say go for either lipgloss or nail polish. The reasoning behind this is that when you spend a lot of money on makeup, you want to get something the receiver will be able to use lots! Unless you know already, don’t try to guess foundation or eyeshadows for someone as these are much more hit and miss.
It’s hard to go wrong with a Chanel nail polish or a Charlotte Tilbury gloss. The lip lustres from CT are pigmented, long-lasting and non-sticky. My favourite has to be ‘Seduction’ – a beautiful peach-brown toned nude that looks flattering on any skin tone. I’d choose glosses over lipsticks when gifting, as they are sheerer, slightly more wearable and easy to use. The iconic rose gold packaging is beautiful, and a lovely gift for someone to unwrap on Christmas morning.
Ted Baker purse
Ted Baker’s accessory range are a great choice. They won’t completely break the bank (as much as some high-end purses will!) and are practical, but still feel like such a treat to receive. A purse is something that can be used literally every day! They come in so many styles and colours, with various sizes too. Personally, I like to have a bigger purse that can fit my cardholder in, that I can then slip in and out.
I’m completely confident in saying that a Ted Baker purse would make someone a lovely gift. I was bought a black, cream/pink and rose gold purse for my 19th birthday 2 years ago and I have carried it with me every day since. It doesn’t even look slightly worn – I’m so impressed with the quality. Black is an easy colour to choose as a gift because it matches with everything.
Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Watches
You truly can’t go wrong with a classic, metal watch. I’m standing by the idea that if you are spending more money on someone’s gift, it’s lovely to be able to choose something they can get plenty of use out of. I’ve been working with Daniel Wellington for a while now and find their watches to be such excellent quality.
This Christmas, I’ve chosen the silver petite watch set, with a slightly smaller face for a traditional, everyday watch. I just love the strap on these watches – it looks pretty without being heavy or bulky. The cuff that comes with it in the Christmas gift set is just beautiful. It looks gorgeous on its own, paired with other silver jewellery or either colour of the watches. I love clashing rose gold and silver – they compliment each other without being too similar.
