I know it’s a strange title for a blog post, but recently I’ve been keeping my skincare and makeup in a bag. When hunting through for the right product, I kept picking up the wrong little tub. This inspired this blog post – the best of the little beauty pots!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
For the last 3 years, this has been my most-used makeup product, without a doubt. I use it religiously, each and every time I apply makeup. I have thin, pretty sparse brows that need all the help they can get! I use this in the colour ‘Medium brown’ with a sharp, angled brush (the number 12 brush, also from ABH)
The Dipbrow Pomade has lasted me for such a long time. A little goes such a long way – you only need to dip your brush into the pomade to fill in each brow. The colour is perfectly cool-toned – lots of brow products are far too warm. The packaging feels sleek and high-end and is easily portable. I know it’s a bold statement, but I don’t think I’ll ever find a brow product as good as this one.
Skyn Iceland Oxygen Infused Night Cream
I got this little pot of the Oxygen Infused Night Cream in the Skin Detox kit from Skyn Iceland a few months ago, and it has remained on my bedside table ever since. Whenever I can’t decide which moistuiser to reach for, I choose this one. It is a fab little night cream, with a gentle warming sensation when applied to bare skin (if used over serum, you don’t really notice this). At £50 a pot for the full size, it isn’t very affordable.
Despite this, I would definitely consider purchasing it after this one is finished. I love the idea that it is detoxifying for your skin – designed to work with your skin’s natural renewal process overnight. My skin feels bright and fresh after using it. The only thing I would say, is to ensure that once applied, don’t rub your skin anymore than it needs to be absorbed. This is one of those moisturisers that rolls itself into little balls if you over work it.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
Another mini size – this one came from the Estee Lauder beauty box! This handy little pot of the famous Vitamin Enriched Face Base is perfect for nights away, keeping in your travel bag. I already know I’ll be buying the full size once I finish this one, which I’m happy to say, comes in a pot as well. I do love a good little pot of moisturiser.
I’ll start with the one bug bear I have with the Face Base – it doesn’t have SPF, so I only use this in the evening really. But it truly is one of the best bases for makeup you will come across. It is rich and so nourishing, but doesn’t feel heavy in the slightest. It glides onto skin, (with a delicious orange scent) and provides moisturisation for as long as you need it to. Sometimes I use a primer as well as this, but more often than not, I use it by itself. I’m not sure super oily skinned gals would like this one, but normal to dry will love it.
Nuxe Reve Du Miel lip balm
I couldn’t write this post without including one of my most trusted lip balms. Ever get those objects or products that go through life with you? Like a hair band that lives on your wrist, or a purse you’ve carried around for a long time. This is one of those! I keep a pot of the Reve Du Miel lip balm in my bag, pocket and on my bedside table at all times.
The formula is so nourishing, that nothing else quite compares. It smells amazing, similar to chocolate orange. A pot of this will last you for as long as you need it to! A small amount applied on the lips will last for hours on end, making it a perfect night-time lip balm as well as for day to day use.
Clinique All About Eyes
Finally, the All About Eyes eye cream from Clinique. I have a very on-off relationship with eye creams generally. I will go without one for months on end, and then suddenly start using one twice daily. If I am using an eye cream, it is most likely this one.
A light, almost gel-cream consistency that glides onto the skin sooo smoothly! It sinks in quickly, or you can even apply lots as a DIY overnight eye mask. It is a pretty fuss free beauty product. I don’t suffer with paticularly bad dark circles (yet!) so I really just need moisturisation from an eye cream. This pot of goodness does just that.
