After what feels like a very long time off, I am back on the blog! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, and spent lots of time with family and friends. Christmas Eve, the day itself and Boxing Day all flew past. So here we are now, in this lovely cosy, lazy, in-between stage before the New Year. A time to relax and reflect on the year – and to enjoy any presents recieved over the Christmas period.
I thought that I’d share a few of my favourite gifts that I recieved this year. I was completely overwhelemed by how many kind and generous gifts my lovely family and boyfriend gave me. I wrote a post like this last year, and I love being able to look back at what I recieved. Here we go!
The Year of Cozy Book
I asked for lots of books this year! I have fallen back in love with reading recently, so I wanted lots of ‘coffee table’ books to browse through. I’m going to write up a seperate ‘new books’ blog post where I chat about the books I got. For now though, this is the ‘Year of the Cozy’ book. Written by blogger, Adrianna Adarme, this book was meant for me!
It is full of recipes, crafts, thoughts and activities for every season. From warm winter soups, to ways to be mindful, there is something for everyone. As a homely sort of person, this books speaks to my soul. You can just pick it up and read a few pages to feel inspired! Not to mention how pretty the cover is. I can’t wait to curl up with a blanket, a hot chocolate and have a browse through the pages.
Diptyque Ambre candle
My boyfriend read my blog to have a look at my wishlist, suprising me on Christmas Day with a candle I have wished for, for such a long time! I just couldn’t justify spending the money on this myself, so I was over the moon when I unwrapped it. Diptyque candles feel so special. Through 2017, I managed to break my habit for ‘saving’ my favourite candles. What was I saving them for exactly? I’m not sure. Nice things should be used and enjoyed, not hidden away!
The Ambre candle smells absolutely incredible. The amber notes remind me so much of the Tom Ford ‘Noir’ fragrance. If you like deep, rich scents that aren’t too sweet, this one is worth a try. The candle is warm, elegant and woody. Amazing!
Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme
I felt speechless when I unwrapped this present! My boyfriend completely suprised me with this gift, I just couldn’t believe it. The ‘Noir’ scent has been my favourite for a few years now. Ollie has the aftershave version, and I’d always ask to have a spray, despite it being a men’s scent. As you can tell, I love woody, rich scents that last well on the skin.
He remembered how much I’d loved it, and so kindly bought it for me. I absolutely love it. Honestly, next time you are in a department shop, try this fragrance out – I’m sure you will love it just as much as I do. It is sweet, dark, and almost masculine – slightly oriental.
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
This gift was another lovely surprise. The Nars Sheer Glow has become a favourite in my collection over the past year. To recieve it as a present (in the correct shade for my skin – extra points for reading my blog to find this out!) was such a brilliant idea. At around £30, it isn’t a very affordable foundation at all – hence why I’ve been trying ot make my current bottle last as long as possible.
I use the shade ‘Light 4 or Deauville’ which is about half a shade darker than my skin tone. When I am really pale, I mix in the lightening drops from the body shop – but most of the time it is just right. I like going slightly darker with my foundation because I look much healthier with a little bit of colour.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm
Having tried (and finished) several of the sample pots of the Moringa Cleanser, I popped the full size version on my Christmas list. It is without a doubt, the best cleanser I’ve ever used. The rich formula melts away makeup with ease and a little really does go a long way.
I know this tub will last me such a long time! The packaging is just beautiful too. Despite being such a fan of this cleanser, I’ve yet to try any other Emma Hardie skincare products. Please let me know if you’ve tried any of the rest of the Amazing Face range.
Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Stirling Gift Set
A gift from me to me now! I’ve been a fan of Daniel Wellington watches for a long time now, so I was over the moon when they offered to send me out one of their Christmas gift sets. I chose the Classic Petite Stirling with this Classic Cuff.
The cuff is so dainty and easy to wear – I literally haven’t taken it off since I recieved it. A beautiful layering piece, that looks so classic and chic when paired with the watch itself. I have very kindly been given a discount code for you all to use when shopping at Daniel Wellington. Simply add MARBLEBEAUTY to recieve an extra 15% off your orders this season. There is free shipping and returns worldwide too.
Neal’s Yard Lavender Bath Salts
My parents chose me this lovely tub of bath salts from Neal’s Yard. I was so happy to open this on Christmas morning because I truly didn’t expect it. A perfect example of a special gift I would always want, but that I wouldn’t ordinarily buy for myself. It smells so good, like lavender fields in Provence! If you are anything like me, you’ll know how much good a relaxing bath can do. It is my remedy for any problems that occur – and this is such a brilliant addition. It comes with it’s own scoop, so you can add the salts to your bath.
If you’ve written up a ‘What I Got For Christmas’ blog post, please share the link to your blog down below so I can have a read! Have you tried any of these products before?
