I’ve been reading Into The Gloss for years. It was always one of my favourite, go-to blogs to catch up on the beauty secrets of the stars and new product releases. When they launched their own beauty brand Glossier in 2014, I expected great things from the products!
Last year, Glossier finally launched in the UK! There was SO much hype around the launch, lots of product reviews, first impression posts and hauls that I actually felt a bit overwhelmed by it all. So, I decided to sit back and wait for a while.
Black Friday online was crazy this year. I did buy a few presents for people’s Christmas gifts but didn’t really shop for myself. That was until I spotted that Glossier had free delivery and 20% off. I love a good discount, so I couldn’t resist treating myself to a couple of products.
I love beauty in general and I go through phases of being all about makeup, and then suddenly skincare will become much more appealing. Right now, skincare is having its moment! I think it is because when you get your skincare products spot on, makeup applies better anyway – so it’s all in the base.
Milky Jelly Cleanser
First up, I chose the Milky Jelly Cleanser. I mean, there was no way I was going to miss out trying this one! If you’re a regular reader here on my blog, you’ll know I love a good cleanser. I have dry skin, so need something that won’t leave my skin feeling stripped, but still feeling super clean.
This cleanser comes with 177ml – a great size that I can already tell will last me a long time. The gel formula is designed to be used either wet or dry. My favourite way to use this is to massage it into my skin dry, and then splash some more water on to work it in. I use a damp face cloth to remove it, which also helps shift any dead skin cells.
The scent of this is amazing, slightly rose scented but nothing overpowering or sickly sweet! Using the jelly cleanser feels like getting a hug – it’s a comforting, does-what-you-need cleanser that has become a complete staple in my routine. At £15, it’s a little more expensive but I’d have no hesitations in repurchasing it.
I hadn’t heard quite so much about the Priming Moisturiser, but it sounded like something I would love! Again, my skin needs as much help with moisture and hydration as it can get so this was on the cards as soon as I saw it
This one costs £18 for 50ml of product, but you are getting two products in one. Usually, 2-in-1 products either do well at one property or the other. In this case, the Priming Moisturiser does an amazing job at both. Glossier – how are you doing it?! It’s a quite thick moisturiser that quickly settles into the skin to feel weightless yet hydrating. It ends up feeling slightly tacky – this is the priming coming into play.
My only gripe with this product is that it doesn’t have SPF! I use factor 50 most days, so I’ve been using my usual SPF underneath, followed by this to prime. This works fine, but it would be even better if it could double up as sun protection so I’d need less to carry around on the go. That is my only complaint though, and I’ve been reaching for it each morning as I do my makeup, which speaks for itself really.
A final note on how dreamy the packaging and aesthetic of ALL the Glossier products is! I love it – they look beautiful on my skincare shelf.
