A few Sunday thoughts…

Sundays for me, are generally saved for roast dinners, family time, board games and bubble baths. A day for getting jobs done, but without a rushed feeling.  I love the slow pace of a quiet final day to the week.

As I write, my day so far has consisted of a long walk with friends next to the sea, a family roast dinner for around 20 of us and then an evening of films and games. It feels homely and nice. Today feels like the very final day of the post-December festivities. I’m finally coming to terms with Christmas being over.

I thought I’d use this blogging time to share a few reflections and thoughts from the week. I’m avoiding journalling (much to my sadness and all thanks to tendonitis, more in this blog post) so spending a few minutes writing here feels therapeutic.

Vegetarians, get yourselves to Nandos. All this time I’d been thinking it was full of chicken (which it is really), but I have recently discovered their ‘Beanie’ wrap which tastes incredible. As in, really really good. My boyfriend and I had a quiet New Year’s Eve in this year, so we treated ourselves to one final meal out before our healthy resolutions kicked in. As far as I’m concerned, the Beanie wrap was the perfect way to bring in the New Year.

On Sundays we wear pink. Yesterday, I bought one of my only sales purchases this year. A bright pink jumper and I really do mean bright. It has had mixed reactions so far. Which really gets me thinking about how different I look when I wear colour. I completely gravitate to black and grey clothes most of the time. I think the logic in my head is that if I have a monochromatic wardrobe, everything will match and I won’t stand out in a crowd. But maybe a splash of colour is worth adding. Is it normal to feel strange about wearing really colourful clothes?

– I really do love cleaning. My Mrs Hinch obsession continues. If you don’t follow @mrshinchhome on Instagram, I urge you to go and take a look – her cleaning tutorials are somewhat addictive. My boyfriend bought me an amazing personalised ‘hinching kit’ for Christmas that I adore. If I have a spare half an hour now, all I want to do is deep-clean the bathroom. It is just so satisfying. Now I just need to get the same enthusiasm for tidying, which doesn’t give me quite the same high as a spotless room. Any tips for organisation welcome!

That’s probably enough rambling for today, although I’m always around on Instagram if you fancy a chat. Happy 2019 everyone, thank you for sticking with me here on the blog. I’m enjoying being back.

This was such a lovely chatty post! I get what you mean about Mrs Hinch – she gets me wanting to clean too!! I seem to have a huge collection of wipes now in a tub in my bathroom cupboard & they’re such an easy way to give everything a quick clean. Lovely post x
